Richard "Xizt" Landstrom of Sweden joined Heroic as an analyst and coach less than one month after retiring as a "Counterstrike: Global Offensive" player.
Xizt will coach Heroic at the PGL Stockholm Major, which begins Saturday.
Heroic had been competing without a coach since July, when Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen of Denmark left the organization amid a scandal. HUNDEN was later assessed a two-year ban from the league for leaking game strategies to other teams.
Xizt most recently was Ninjas in Pyjamas' in-game leader. He has also competed for Dignitas and Fnatic and was briefly a substitute for FaZe Clan.
"We are excited to have a true CS legend onboard!" Heroic's official account tweeted Wednesday. "We are certain he will help us elevate our team to new heights in 2021. We are honored to have you as a part of our team."
