YAOUNDE -- Unidentified gunmen killed three students and one teacher on Wednesday in an attack on a government school in Cameroon's war-torn Anglophone region of Southwest, according to local authorities.

The assailants stormed Government Bilingual High School in Ekondo Titi locality by 7:30 a.m. local time when students were studying, and detonated an improvised explosive device, the Divisional Officer of Ekondo Titit, Timothe Aboloa said. (Cameroon-Anglophone region-School attack)

BRUSSELS -- Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo tested negative for COVID-19 on Wednesday, following a meeting with his French counterpart Jean Castex who tested positive on Monday.

DAMASCUS -- Two civilians were killed and seven others, including six soldiers, were wounded during a fresh Israeli missile strike against sites in central Syria earlier on Wednesday, state news agency SANA reported.

ISLAMABAD -- Four people of a family were shot dead by unknown men on Wednesday in Sheikhupura district of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, local media reported.

According to the reports, the deceased including a man, his wife and two daughters, were travelling in a car when the alleged assailants, on a motorbike, opened fire on them. (Pakistan-Firing)

KIEV -- Ukraine has launched a joint special border operation "Polissya" at the frontier with Belarus in an attempt to prevent a migrant crisis and combat illegal activities, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the operation is being conducted by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine together with the National Guard, the National Police, the Armed Forces and other law enforcement units. (Ukraine-Belarus-Migrant crisis)
