RIGA, May 22 (Xinhua) -- King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden paid a working visit to Latvia on Thursday, highlighting Sweden's deepening role in regional defense and its growing economic ties with the Baltic region.
During their talks, Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics expressed gratitude for Sweden's military presence and emphasized the importance of further strengthening defense industry cooperation between the two nations.
He also recognized Sweden as Latvia's largest foreign investor, underscoring the close economic partnership alongside military collaboration.
